Teach On FAQ

Get instant answers to your top questions about teaching, uploading content, and managing your profile. The FAQ helps you stay confident and focused on sharing knowledge.

Who can become an instructor?

Anyone passionate about teaching semiconductor, IC design, or EDA topics can apply. There are no strict entry requirements—if you have hands-on experience and a clear way of explaining technical concepts, you are welcome to join.

How do I register as an instructor?

Simply download the Instructor Registration Form, fill in your personal details, review the sample for format guidance, and submit it either through the online submission page or by emailing it to info@eda-academy.com. You’ll receive a confirmation once your profile is reviewed.

Do I need teaching experience or certificates?

No. We prioritize technical depth, clarity, and authenticity. Many of our best instructors are active engineers sharing real project experiences rather than academic lecturers.

What subjects can I teach?

Any topic within chip and EDA domains—such as Verilog/SystemVerilog, UVM, SVA, Formal Verification, synthesis, STA, P&R, physical verification, mixed-signal design, or automation scripting. Choose what you truly know and enjoy teaching.

How should I plan my course?

Structure your content in three levels: Module → Lecture → Page.

Modules represent sections; lectures contain videos; pages hold slides, notes, or quizzes. This keeps learning organized and consistent across all courses.

What materials should I prepare?

Prepare your slides (PPT/PDF), lecture notes, and optional quizzes or assignments. Each lecture must have a corresponding MP4 video, following the standardized naming rule. Supporting materials like design files or code examples are welcome.

How long should each lecture video be?

We recommend 5–20 minutes per lecture. Shorter segments improve focus, retention, and searchability. Avoid long unbroken recordings.

What format and quality are required for videos?

Record in MP4, 1080p (1920×1080) or higher. Use clear audio and avoid background noise. Preferred tools: OBS Studio, Microsoft Clipchamp, or Camtasia. You may send a short pilot clip to confirm quality before recording all videos.

How should I name my files?

Use this pattern:

CourseName_M{ModuleNumber}-P{SlideRange}_{LectureTitle}.mp4

Example: Verilog Basics_M1-P5-9_Logic Gates Intro.mp4

What is the Course Information Sheet?

It’s the standardized file describing your course metadata—title, summary, target audience, pricing, structure, and materials list.

Steps:

(1) Download the blank form.

(2) Review the provided sample.

(3) Submit via the online form or by email to info@eda-academy.com.

This ensures a consistent course catalog format.

What is the Instructor Upload step?

This step uploads your actual files—videos, slides, quizzes, and documents—via the platform’s instructor upload interface. This is separate from the Course Information Sheet. Once uploaded, notify us (automatically or by email) so the review process can begin.

What is the full submission process?

Steps:

(1) Review and finalize your materials.

(2) Upload your course content through the instructor upload interface.

(3) Submit your Course Information Sheet.

Once both are received, our review team will evaluate and approve your course for publishing.

How long does review take?

Typically 5–10 business days. We check organization, clarity, technical accuracy, and compliance with policy. You’ll receive feedback if revisions are needed.

When will my course go live?

After approval, EDA Academy will publish the course and assign it to the right categories. You’ll receive the live course link for sharing and promotion.

Can I update my course later?

Yes, but updates require full re-submission and re-approval, similar to a new course. Therefore, double-check everything before the first submission to save time.

What if I co-teach with someone?

That’s allowed, but all collaboration and profit sharing are managed privately between instructors. EDA Academy does not mediate or split co-instructor payments.

How does the revenue share work?

After deducting transaction fees:

Direct sales → Instructor 80%, Platform 20%.

Affiliate sales → After affiliate commission (0–50%) and fees, remaining 80/20 split.

Membership (optional) → Shared proportionally based on student access.

You choose whether to join membership sharing.

When and how will I be paid?

Payments are made every 90 days, once your total earnings reach USD 500, via PayPal, Payoneer, or approved bank transfer. Payments are made in USD, and instructors are responsible for taxes and bank fees.

Who owns the course content?

You retain full ownership. You grant EDA Academy a non-exclusive license to host, distribute, and promote it. You can request removal anytime, though existing students retain access to purchased courses.
